Chapter 4
"Why in Hell me" Patrick tries to think of what the hell he is going to do. When suddenly he hears something . . . A faint " . . . for the fall. . . .permanent slumber . . . made from broken memories . . ."
In search to amuse himself, he sees Eva. Mona quickly runs towards Eva, Patrick follows along. "Hey, girlie! Lets put you in back before mum sees you!" Eva steers Mona towards the suburban house in front of them. "Great you, gonna ditch me then"
Patrick followed them at a distance, in hopes of something.
At the rim of the fence, Eva jumps the fence and gets caught by her pants and ends up ripping her pants.
"Crap!!!! UUUGGGHHHH Mona do you see what I have to go through for you!" Patrick, trying hard not to laugh realizes that he had been staring at her for a while. "And I thought I had problems" he dismisses the thought.
Entering the backyard, he follows Eva into the kitchen to see what she is going to give Mona. "No, No, No what are you doing? That's terrible!" He sees her chop up a couple of hot dogs and some left over scraps from last night's dinner.
He poses himself on table in the patio, but seeing Eva almost trip on the water hose he reaches out to grab her. "Watch it, clumsy!" Grasping her by the shirt, he hauls her towards him. She slowly turns around stiff with fear, a glimpse of a familiar face looks at her with concern.
Realizing that she can see him, and that he just grabbed her, Patrick walks away from her slowly. Both of them breathing hard, they just stare at each other. God, this is awkward! Patrick tries to think up a conversation starter. "Please don't freak out! I know I shouldn't have trespassed and I didn't mean to startle you, but you were going to hurt yourself and I had to . . . yeah . . ." He trails off hoping she will say something.
All he could see was the bewilderment in her eyes and the fear in the way that she was still breathing hard. "Please, I really didn't mean to, but I don't know what happened , I woke up on the freeway and like a ghost, but you see me and I touched you. Meaning that I am alive and that I am not crazy" A few seconds after he had explained himself Eva dashed towards the backyard gate hoping that someone would come to her rescue, her foot gets stuck in a gopher whole and ends up with a sprained ankle.
